START BIG WITH SMALL THINGSMatthew 14:16-18 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said.
We all want to do great things this Year. One of the things that we must do as we pursue greatness is to offer up whatever skill, ability, talent or gift we have to the Lord... and trust Him to bless and multiply it. Stop waiting for “everything to fall in place”. What do you have right now? Offer it to God. Use whatever ‘little’ ability you have immediately. The Year has a way of running away from us. So we must all decide now to bring out our abilities no matter how ‘ordinary’ they seem. Consider Job 8:7-Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase…There is nothing wrong with starting small, but there is a lot wrong with not starting at all. Stop giving yourself reasons to justify laziness, procrastination weaknesses, lethargy and complacency. Get up and get going with the little in your hand. Take that job, write that exam, start that business, write that book, make those plans now, submit that proposal, record that song…don’t wait till every resource is available. Trust God and step out in faith and see what God will do in 2013 with your 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Take time and study this story in detail. Do not forget that the ‘little’ you have was given by God and He knows how to increase it…1 Corinthians 3:6- I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.
PRAYER CONFESSION
I arise in faith and step out in obedience to fulfill all that heaven has laid in my heart to do. I reject complacency, lethargy and procrastination in Jesus Name. AMEN!
