HELPING OUR CHILDREN ELIMINATE gods IN THEIR LIVES
What are some of the false gods our children struggle with?
Here are a few but we can look deep and help them deal with it through the help of the HOLY SPIRIT.
1. SELF.
James 3:16
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
Everyone struggles with selfishness, but children mostly and often act like the world revolves around them.
Parents these days feed the natural urge toward the big ME and the society does more. In fact, this god of selfishness contributes the most to the undesirable behavior we see in children who always want to have their way.
Occasionally selfish attitudes can irritate even the most patient person.
This is a god that needs to be dealt with by correcting the child and teaching them how to share seeking to help others and stop feeling the world revolves around them alone.
2. PEER ACCEPTANCE.
James 4:4
You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
Striving to seek for acceptance is the easiest way to become a man pleaser.
It makes you want to put others first before God (at all cost) and that becomes a god.
Children if not well informed will do all they can to fit into the crowd by so doing they lay aside their values to be accepted by others. This causes peer pressure; such a potent force.
As parents, we should help them by loving them and assuring them of God’s love for them.
Let them be bold to declare their stand for God and uphold His values for Him.
God bless our children.
